Those who fly with low cost airlines have to be aware of the weight of their hand luggage. Every kilo extra compared to the weight limit becomes an extra cost to pay. A cost which the majority of travellers find unfair.

How could we motivate passengers to donate their excess items rather than pay the extra fee to bring them on board?

Idea

Thanks to the partnership with Easyjet, Unicef transforms an extra cost into an Extra Gift.

All the passengers will in fact be able to weigh their luggage on special Unicef scales, before checking in on Easyjet flights. The weighing scales show the excess weight compared to the weight limit of the company and invites passengers to donate their excess items to children in the third world. To whom they could be of great importance. Weight to child-friendly.
